The 4th PNP-ACG Summit on Cybercrime which is organized by Philippine National Police – Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) was held last March 21-22, 2017, which is also the time on which the PNP-ACG is celebrating its fourth anniversary. This was held at the PNP Multi-Purpose Hall of Camp Crame which is the National Headquarters of the PNP.
The two-day summit was been attended by individuals from both public and private sectors in which most of the attendees came from the banks and the law enforcement sector. PDG. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa also came to the event as a guest of honor and congratulate the PNP-ACG on their fourth anniversary.
The speakers came from both local and international in which they are experts in fighting cybercrime. They taught the attendees about the importance of investing and placing security softwares on their devices not just on their offices but also their personal devices. The companies should also educate their employees and their clients on cyber-security as these people are the most vulnerable on these attacks.
They also told the attendees about being vigilant and be very careful in their transactions and specially clicking links from the emails they receive or from the websites that they visit. Their security softwares should also have the capability to detect malwares even after the breach has happened. They also talked about combating cyber-terrorism and making ammendments to the current law to add this as a crime. They also talked about the Internet of Things (IoT) and the certain precautions that we must take as this devices are more vulnerable to attacks than other devices.
