There has been much hype about Marvel’s The defenders, the series was released August 18 on Netflix. The Miniseries is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and features Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter). Adapted from the comic books by Marvel the heroes find themselves at odds with the same organization – The Hand. They eventually team up to stop the plans of The Hand.

One of the most interesting characters is Alexandra, and there is something about her that reminds us of Kingpin. Iron Fist is informed about the end game of The Hand in New York, oblivious to his role in the events to come.
Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver), Sowande (Babs Olusanmokun), Murakami (Yutaka Takeuchi), Bakuto (Ramon Rodriguez), and Madam Gao (Wai Ching Ho) – also meet to finalize plans to get the substance for resurrection after it is depleted when Elektra is brought back to life by Alexandra. The Iron Fist is ignorant of his importance in unlocking the substance and is eventually captured by Elektra who saves him from being killed by Stick (Scott Glenn).
The defenders is a must watch for fans of the Marvel franchise and new comers will not feel left out as well. Netflix has done a great job in reinventing these heroes and interpreting their stories in a unique way. The series has 8 episodes and features some nice fight scenes and some super hero moves.
